Last night, I recognized our dog Solo was going through gastric torsion within minutes of it starting, luckily. He was stiff, frothing at the mouth, and unable to vomit. We lifted him into the truck immediately, as I rode in the back with him to keep him as comfortable as I could. He stood the whole way, while my husband literally drove 90 miles an hour from Bergen NY to Henrietta NY. We made it to emergency within 15 minutes of recognizing his distress. If you ever see your dog have these symptoms. Rush them as fast as you can to the vet. Time is so critical in this situation. We went back before surgery to see him lying on the x-ray table, clearly in pain, as soon as he saw us...he lifted his head and started to whine. Heartbreaking, as we were putting all of our faith in the doctors and God's hands.
